Jonathan Medows, CPA, Founder
Jonathan Medows is a certified public accountant licensed in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He is also a recognized expert in taxation for freelancers and the self-employed—often tapped for his expert knowledge and perspective on self-employment taxation by national and regional publications such as The New York Post, BusinessWeek, Forbes taxation blog, WebCPA, CPA Practice Advisor and others. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in economics and accounting and an MBA in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. However, his interests and education go far beyond accounting and taxes. Jonathan also holds a Master of Arts in Judaic Studies and, although he decided to pursue accounting over a rabbinical career, Jonathan received his Rabbinic diploma from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Brian Choi, CPA, Senior Accountant
In addition to his in-house accounting experience Brian is a graduate of New York’s Baruch College, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in finance and investments. He also earned a masters degree in accounting at Hunter College in New York.
Brian is a Certified Public Accountant in New York.
When he’s not helping clients, Brian enjoys running and hiking.
Bryan Rocchio, CPA, Staff Accountant
Bryan Rocchio joined CPA for Freelancers® in June 2016. He is responsible for individual tax returns, corporate tax returns, and sales tax returns. Bryan’s keen attention to detail and creative thinking have allowed him to find his true niche in individual returns. Bryan is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.
Prior to joining the CPA for Freelancers®, Bryan worked at BNY Mellon (BNYM) as a Senior ETF and Mutual Fund Accountant. He was responsible for managing the daily operations of client’s multi-billion dollar portfolios. Following his service at BNYM Bryan serviced the people of Brooklyn working at J.D. Pantzis, CPA completing both individual and business tax returns.
Bryan earned a Bachelors of Science in Finance from St. John’s University and a Master of Science degree in accounting from Long Island University.
Bryan works hard to please his clients and to help in any way that he can. When Bryan is not assisting clients he is helping the people of New York City as a firefighter for the FDNY. Bryan also enjoys traveling the world and eating delicious food.
Gaynor Meilke, Marketing & Public Relations
Gaynor works to connect CPA for Freelancers® with freelancers and the self-employed individuals who can benefit from expert tax, accounting and business advice. She is responsible for managing the blog, advertising, and for expanding the CPA for Freelancers™ community.
Gaynor graduated from the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in consumer studies and marketing. She completed graduate studies in public relations and corporate communications at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. She also earned a Master of Science degree in integrated marketing communications from Eastern Michigan University.
