Now that we’ve officially celebrated the new year (and hopefully recovered from any after-effects of doing so) your calendar may seem startlingly blank after the rush of the holidays. While not as enticing as an exotic rendezvous or your next Netflix binge-watching night, making sure you know what tax filings and obligations you have in the coming year will put you in the right frame of mind and financial position to truly enjoy the year ahead:

January 15, 2016

      • Fourth quarter 2015 estimated tax payments are due.

 

February 1, 2016

      • 1099-Misc Forms (Payments to Independent Contractors) should be sent to recipients by this date.

 

February 26, 2016

      • New York State Domestic and Foreign LLC, LLP and Partnership annual filing fees are due.

 

March 15, 2016

      • C-Corporation tax returns are due.
      • S-Corporation tax returns are due.

 

March 20, 2016

      • New York State Sales Tax Returns for Annual Filers for March 1, 2015–February 29, 2016 are due.

 

March 21, 2016

      • New York State Returns for Quarterly Filers for December 1, 2015–March 21, 2016 are due.

 

April 15, 2016

      • Partnership, LLP and LLC tax returns are due.
      • Fiduciary tax returns are due.
      • First quarter 2016 estimated tax payments are due.

 

April 18, 2016

      • Personal and Single Member LLC Income tax returns are due.

 

April 30, 2016

      • MCTMT Annual Tax Returns are due.

 

June 15, 2016

      • Second quarter 2016 estimated tax payments are due.
      • Personal and Single Member LLC Income tax returns for US Citizens and Residents Aliens living outside the United States are due.

 

June 20, 2016

      • New York State Sales Tax Returns for Quarterly Filers for March 1, 2016–May 31, 2016 are due.

 

June 30, 2016

      • Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) is due.

 

September 15, 2016

      • Third quarter 2016 estimated tax payments are due.
      • C-Corporation Tax Returns on Extension are due.
      • S-Corporation Tax Returns on Extension are due.
      • Multi-Member LLC + Partnership Tax Returns Extension are due.

 

September 20, 2016

      • New York State Sales Tax Returns for Quarterly Filers for June 1, 2016–August 31, 2016 are due.

 

October 17, 2016

      • Personal and Single Member LLC Income Tax Returns on Extension are due.

 

December 20, 2016

      • New York State Sales Tax Returns for Quarterly Filers for September 1, 2016–November 30, 2016 are due by December 20, 2016.
